To check your current software version, enter *#0000# on your Nokia N95's keypad. The version number will look similar to this: V 12.3.456.

Nokia N95 software update step by step

1. Before you start, make sure you activate Active standby if it is not already active. Go to Menu > Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby mode > Active standby = on

2. Back-up your device memory data to your device memory card or to your PC using Nokia PC Suite or Nokia Nseries PC Suite. You will find more detailed instructions in Nokia N95 user guide.

   To backup to your memory card:

   • Select Tools > Memory from the main menu
   • Select Options > Backup phone mem.
3. Update your Nokia N95 firmware with Nokia Software Updater. Nokia Software Updater will guide you through the update process.
4. Activate active standby again if it is not already active. Go to Menu > Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby mode > Active standby = on

5. Restore data to your Nokia N95 from your device memory card or your PC using Nokia PC Suite or Nokia Nseries PC Suite. You will find more detailed instructions in Nokia N95 user guide.

   To restore data to device memory:

   • Select Tools > Memory from the main menu
   • Select Options > Restore from card
